Election is past,
Things are still in transition,
Waiting for the change.
***
One side is angry,
The other is filled with hope,
Both are expectant.
***
I feel the exact same,
Don’t think anything will change,
Unity won’t come.

A new day as dawned!
I breath the fresh air of hope,
Tasting the delicious drops of freedom,
like honey from the sky.
Blue birds sing in the newly green tree,
the dark days have passed.
Like Promises after the storm,
rainbows reflect off my rose colored glasses
while jolly Leprechauns hand out their golden treasure,
spreading the wealth around.
Young does prance merrily
through the blossoming poppies
as people from all races and creeds
join hands and sing Kumbaya;
Black, White, Brown, Christian, Muslim, Jew.
Fluffy bunnies gather at their feet and join in the fun,
Lending their voices in perfect harmony!
What JOY!
HOPE has sprung eternal!

A Talking Head yaps
Saying things I want to hear
But will he bring change?
*
Hope is fantastic
Unity heals division
But are they just words?
*
I’d like to believe
But keep getting proven wrong
Empty words mean shit.
