A new day as dawned!

I breath the fresh air of hope,

Tasting the delicious drops of freedom,

like honey from the sky.

Blue birds sing in the newly green tree,

the dark days have passed.

Like Promises after the storm,

rainbows reflect off my rose colored glasses

while jolly Leprechauns hand out their golden treasure,

spreading the wealth around.

Young does prance merrily

through the blossoming poppies

as people from all races and creeds

join hands and sing Kumbaya;

Black, White, Brown, Christian, Muslim, Jew.

Fluffy bunnies gather at their feet and join in the fun,

Lending their voices in perfect harmony!

What JOY!

HOPE has sprung eternal!

A historic moment in time…

Same promises, different faces.

Check a box, fix the world!

Musical chairs of change

or more of the same?

Bloodless battles fought with

words of mass destruction.

Hope standing on the precipice,

either to rise on the wings of promises kept

or to fall, like Icarus,

melted by the heat of tradition.

Time tells its tale,

ticking in perpetual motion.

The hands,

always moving forward yet,

finding themselves back where they started.

Carousel of change, round and round!

I don’t want to talk about it
Because I’m sick of all your spin.
Hurry up and decide already!
I just want to know who wins!

The tides of change are ebbing
and I’m going with the flow…
Riding waves of currents,
Simply DYING just to know.

One thing is for certain,
no matter which one wins tonight:

They’ve got an uphill battle ahead
and they’ll have to put up a fight.

So get out and do your part, my friends!

There’s still time to cast your vote…
And if you don’t get your two-cents in

Quit your bi*ching: that’s all she wrote!

I’m a man of two minds

And I’m angry, but at who

I don’t know.

I find myself arguing both sides,

depending on who I’m talking to,

seeing things from all angles

just as my Father taught me.

Am I hypocritical or just well-rounded?

What do I really believe?

Good question! Well….

I really don’t know.

I’m a man of two minds,

arguing politics in an election year

with anyone who wants to talk

…and myself.

I am my toughest competitor,

smashing myself to the ground.

I want to help people I say,

Socialism is the way –

We need to help those who can’t help themselves!

Do you really?

Did you give change to that bum?

Do you like seeing him clutter your streets?

Do you want some lady to have 4 kids because she was irresponsible and now sits at home lazily collecting a check that the government happily hands out to her with your tax money when you are working a job that you don’t like to live the life you want because you are soft and have responsibilities?

Well it’s better than letting her kids go hungry on the streets.

True, but do you want the government to have that much control?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! Limited government is the way!

Socialism with limited government!

What?

I am a man of two minds.

Can’t decide on a candidate,

even though I don’t vote –

Which is a whole other can of beans.

I could never vote Republican out of moral principles

and the fact that I’ve spent years arguing vehemently with my father.

But I can’t vote Democratic.

Too many people on the band-wagon…

He is the savior!

Hope and Change!!

It’s Bush’s fault…Bush’s fault…

Bush’s fault…Bush’s fault.

Really?  Did he do it all himself?

They are all the same, politicians make me sick.

But I REALLY like BIDEN!!

But I can’t vote for Obama.

I just don’t like him.

He’s not a good speaker and just says what people want to hear.

So that leaves McCain…but I couldn’t, he’s the same –

And REPUBLICAN!

But he was a middle of the road candidate?

WAS is the operable word.

Luckily, I don’t vote.

Moral superiority…

or just confusion?

Please someone save me from myself…

make it all go away!

A bright light, angels singing…Is that you Lord?

Dammit!!  Stupid Barack.
